Charlotte completed a Master of Arts in Curatorial and Museum Studies from the University of Adelaide in 2007. The Graduate Studies in Art History and Curatorial and Museum Studies postgraduate program, unique to South Australia, is unlike any other course offered in Australia as the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions of the Art Gallery of South Australia are central to tuition. As the program is taught by gallery and museum professionals, students gain competency in the theoretical and practical aspects of collections in a range of art museums, galleries and libraries.
Prior to her post graduate study, Charlotte graduated in 2002 from a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in French and Italian, and a Diploma in Languages in Spanish. She then lived in England for two years where she held the position of Assistant Manager of the Ashmolean Museum Café, Oxford. This experience highlighted Charlotte’s passion for the arts and her interest in the collections sector was developed through the rich cultural environment of the museum. Valuable administrative and business skills were also obtained in this role.
Charlotte's employment with the Collections Council commenced in January 2008, and concluded in January 2010. The Board and Secretariat of the Collections Council congratulate Charlotte on her appointment to the Art Gallery of South Australia.
